A letter can be presented by the parents and relatives of a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident visiting the United States to the Immigration officer at the Port of Entry requesting to grant permission to stay in the United States a short period. The letter is not mandatory but can be useful for the people whose native language may not be English and just find it difficult to communicate in English. The letter can also include the reason and the duration of the visit as well as a request to grant entry into the port of entry.

Please be advised my parent's native language is [insert language], and are not fluent in the English language. Therefore, this language barrier will certainly present hindrance during communication, as well as delays in the Point of Entry process at the port.
Upon completing the Point of Entry process, my parents shall be residing with me during the authorized stay at the above mentioned address. I intend to accompany them on all their tours in the States. However, I am permanently employed full time for [insert company] at [insert address]. Company policies restrict extended periods of leave for non-medical circumstances, and presents difficulty accompanying my parents to tour the United States. Therefore, I request a longer stay of 6 months be granted to allow me opportunity to arrange proper leave periods from work.
My already have return airfare tickets for [date], and I have obtained health insurance for [them/her/him] for a period of  months. Therefore, I request you to grant them a longer stay of 6 months in the United States.
Please find attached the plan which outlines the tourism of my parents. This outline includes tour destinations, and corresponding expected tour dates. I sincerely request you to help my parents in getting through the port entrance.Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
