Hello, if you remember we had a phone chat yesterday evening about my situation where I mentioned I have just about 10-11 months remaining in my H1b (with 5 years and 1 month completed) and got laid off with March 3 as my last day. Since my wife has an approved i-140, I am planning to apply for H4/H4EAD soon. I remember you mentioning its wise to conserve whatever remaining H1B days I have. Please help with some followup questions I have after our conversation yesterday. 1. How is conserving days in H1b important if I am switching to H4/H4EAD and I am planning to restart my PERM in the new company? I didnt clearly understand your explanation there. Can you please explain that once again? 2. Since it takes about 4-6 months to get H4EAD approved, is it possible for me to start working on H1b while my H4/H4EAD is pending COS and switch to the latter as soon as its approved? Is that transition possible? 3. While I am in US on my 60 days grace period and my H4/H4EAD COS is pending and the approval takes 4-6 months, will those 6 months be counted against my 10 month remaining H1B period? Is there something I can do to avoid that? Please advise what is my best way forward. Thanks!
