I am on a H1B visa sponsored by my employer and I work in a Software Company. I moved to the US on a F1 visa and have a masters degree in Software Engineering. Is there anyway I can do a side gig/job like life coaching (by joining a American owned coaching company) on weekends or off work hours along with my regular job? Or can I have my private practice? Can I make money off making Podcasts or Youtube videos? I heard that someone on a h1b could do a side gig by getting issued a 1099 instead of a W2 form for taxes. Is this true? Appreciate any ideas on how to do a side gig on a H1b visa. Thank you.
