Question

My wife's green card interview for immigrant visa (F2A) is already schedule, and interview date is 5 weeks from now in her home country (Consular Processing). She applied for a Masters degree offered by a US university. Classes start in 2 weeks for this Fall semester, which is also the first semester of the 1.5-year long program. The university understands our situation and allows my wife to take online classes from her home country for this Fall, and switch to in-person classes starting Spring 2023 (after my wife arrival in the US, which is expected to happen in October or November this year). However, the school asked us to consult with an immigration lawyer before starting the online classes. So, I wonder if there is any potential issue with her immigrant visa processing if she takes online classes. We already informed the university that my wife don't need any student visa. Thanks a lot for the help.
