Hi, Good evening. I'm an opt student, my employer filed councelor h1b visa in 2023 and it is approved & valid till 2026 and the councelor h1b visa is not yet activated. My current stem opt is expiring on last week of Jan 2025. I'm planning to switch to new employer, 1. can my new employer file for change of status and transfer councelor h1b? If no, does he need to file for a new councelor h1b visa processing or a new regular h1b processing? or 2. do I need to file for change of status with my current employer and then do a h1b transfer?
