Country: India Primary Applicant : I-140 approved: EB1-B Derivative applicant (Spouse): F1 My wife is graduating in August 2023 and wants to apply for post-completion OPT. She has an imminent job offer waiting for her to join. She is my derivative applicant on a pending I-485 /I-765 (based on my EB1 B – India approval) which we filed recently. We also received biometric notices for both scheduled for July 27th. I am not sure how long it will take for her AOS-EAD to arrive. They say close to 5 months or so. Meanwhile, can she apply for OPT-EAD (now with premium processing options) while our I-485 is still pending? Will it be approved? Will there be any consequences for her I-485 application if she does that. Will it adversely affect our adjustment of status? If she receives her EAD through OPT, can she start using it right away? Please clarify. Thanks.
