My parents are citizens of India and their Greencard got approved on January 27 at Mumbai consulate under Family Sponsorship application filed by my US citizen brother. They will visit Texas on May 15,2025 to complete their landing process. My questions: (1)How long will it take for them to get the physical copy of their Greencard in mail once they arrive in Texas? (2) How soon can my dad apply for a re-entry permit (Form I-131) for himself and my mom after arriving in Texas? Do they need a lawyer to file, and will they have to attend a biometrics exam in Texas? My dad must return to India soon after getting his Green Card due to family obligations. (3)How soon will they receive their re-entry permit once applied? And do they need to live in USA until they receive the re-entry permit OR Can they leave USA as soon as their re-entry permit is filed? (4) Do my parents need to complete biometric exam in the USA again for their landing process and also for re-entry permit? (5)Once in TX, are they eligible to buy health insurance from government’s ACA marketplace even though they don’t have any employment history in USA? If they visit other US states, will that insurance cover them?
