Question

Hi, My mother inlaw came to USA on February 1st 2020. She was given a stay in US till 30th April 2020 (I-94). She did not get full 6 months stay as she stayed in US last year for almost one year(requested for 5 more months extension last year and was approved). On April 1st 2020, due to Covid 19 situation I have filed for extension (citing the reasons as Covid 19, banning of international travel) of stay till August 15th 2020 online. We have not heard anything from USCIS since then except for soft copy of receipt. As COVID has not improved I want to request for further stay beyond August 2020. I have following questions. 1) Is there any away to change the date from August 15th to later date (say till 1st January 2021) in the application we already filed on April 1st 2020? 2) If this is not possible should we start new application? 3) If point 2 (start over new application) above is the only option, then how can we link the previous pending application (which was filed on April 1st) with this one? If we dont link the previous pending application USCIS might think she is out of status since 1st May 2020. 4) Do we need to pay the fees of $385+$85 again if we file new application?
