Question

Hello, Situation: My mom is on B1/B2 Visa visiting us from India. Her I-94 expired in March 2020 but we filed extension for her stay due to current Covid situation. We received the notice for fingerprint and photo at ASC center but they were also closed due to Covid situation. I did send an enquiry about rescheduling the appointment and USCIS came back saying that when the centers will reopen, we will receive an updated notice with new ASC appointment. My mom's passport is also expiring in November 2020. Question: 1) Even if USCIS provides six months extension, it will be till mid-September. Do you think we should apply for passport renewal and she can continue to stay without needing another Visa extension because of current Covid scenario? Are there any new guidelines for B1/B2 stay extensions due to Covid? Considering all the above information what do you suggest we should do?
