Q.

O1 visa

I am currently a physician on H1 B 6th year. I am due to start cardiology fellowship next year. I have applied for EB1 and NIW petitions of which they need extra evidence in EB1 and NIW is pending. To be on safe side I wanted to consider O1 visa. Is it feasible in my case. I have matched in a very competitive fellowship for 3 years and have around 13 publications and 6-8 poster presentation. I really need to stay on to finish the fellowship. What does my institution need to do? They do not know about O1 and normally sponsor H1. I will have to put forward my case to them. I have the evidence I collected for EB1? what else is needed? My fellowship director is very reputed in field. Would a letter from him suffice? Is there any other way I can continue to stay for fellowship?
