Q.

Do I've to leave the country immediately as I'm out-of-status?

I'm an international student from India and had come to do my Masters in Physical Therapy last Fall 2008.Due to unfortunate reasons,I fell out of F1 status on the 10th of Feb.I'm trying for re-isntatement of F1.I was told that I have five months in which to apply for re-instatement.Do I have to leave the country immediately or can stay back until I get it re-isntated while I'm here? And also is it easy to get re-instated,what are my chances of getting re-instated as my International advisor at my University said that Re-instatement is a dicey process. It may be granted or denied.I'm also trying for a job and get an H1B sponsorship in the meantime. Can I go from out-of-status to getting an H1B or is it that I have to get my F1 re-instated and only then I'm eligible to get an H1B visa?
