G Imigration

Hello sir,I am here in US with green card since 6 yrs through asylum,My spouce and sons they also got green card after fyling me since 8 months.Due to economic conditions it is very hard to get them education, thats why I sent them back to my home country Nepal for education,
1.How long they can stay continuousley outside the us with green card status?
2.Is they come and go directly to their home country without fearness, because they are not the primary applicants.
3.What is the best way to get education back there and keep the green card status safe?
