Q.

L1 to H1 transfer

I am originally on L1 valid till July 29 2013 with Comp A. On November 28, Comp B got a H1 with COS approved with starting Validity Nov 23.
I think this means I cannot work with Comp A on L1 to serve my notice period, correct?
As approval was backdated, Approved on Nov 28th, with starting validity date of Nov 23, I was already working with Comp A on L1. Do I need to return the salary from Nov 23?
To fix this Comp B says they will file a H1 amendment to request a new validity date Jan 3rd, if it is approved, does it mean that my status will go back to L1 from Nov 23rd? If not what is the alternative? Will this make my status invalid?
Even if I resign on today Nov 30th, I would have worked with Company A on L1 for Nov 23rd to Nov 30th. What kind of problems it will create in future.
