Maintaining green card while working in Canada

I am Indian passport holder, got US green card through EB1 in Feb 2011 & moved to Canada on work permit July 2011.I applied for re entry permit citing family reasons& have it approved until July 2013. I want to maintain green card status & move in and out across the border. 1. Working in Canada has a negative impact on my status? 2. What should I tell when we are crossing the border? Do they need to know re entry permit or we just use our green card? 3. We have US credit cards, checking acnt, cellphone, car license plate. 4. Should we buy a new house and open a new savings account in US? 5.If border officer ask us to sign paper and give up our green card, what should we do?6. I have my I-140 EB2 NIW approved, in case my green card is taken back can I use it to apply green card in future?
