Petitioner died after we paid for visas.
2000 - My grandmother applied for family based US visa (her mother, the petitioner, and brother are US citizens).
2010 - While she was preparing her documents for the consular processing, her mother, passed away.
We sent a letter with a copy of the Death Certificate to NVC, and at the same time, we mailed a package with request of reinstatement, Affidavit of Support by a substitute sponsor, sworn statements and original documents to Vermont Service center.
Feb 2011 - interview at US Embassy in Kiev. During interview we’ve been told that Embassy did not receive documents about petitioner’s death and substitute sponsor (they missed our documents)!
We were told that Embassy will send the files back to Vermont. But we have no news since then. What should we do to push this case?
