Q.

Asylum after 4 years in US

Hello,
I came to US in F1Visa from Nepal and haven't visited back since then. Currently i am in OPT and have a decent job. I am planning to file an asylum from IL. After filing for asylum, what will be my status in case it gets approved or if it does not. In case my asylum gets rejected in preliminary interview round, will i still be able to work in my current EAD or it will be cancelled? If there are any reasons or circumstances that i need to be aware of, please let me know? My planning is to file an asylum ASAP given the postconditions will not trouble me with my current job. Please enlighten me how this thing works? I have tried talking to people in F1, who are now granted Asylum but they have a mixed opinion about the postconditions.
