Q.

Question of conversion of L1/L2 to H1/H4 respectively

Hi,

My L1B expires on 01/19/2011. My dependants' L2 and I94 expires on 01/19/2011. My company will apply for a fresh H1B (premium). My questions are:
1) Is a fresh H1B same as Change of Status from L1B to H1B?
2) Can a change of status (L2 to H4 using I-530 form) be applied for my dependants alongwith my fresh H1B petetion?
3) If I do not hear a decision from USCIS by 01/19/2011, can I continue to stay and work in US? And can my dependents stay in US after 01/19/2011 with a valid status?
4) If my H1B is approved by 01/19/2011, is there a way to file H4 visa for my dependants by staying in US or do we need to travel to India for getting their visas? If we have to travel to India how soon should we travel so that there are no issues in getting their H4 visa.

Thanks,
asish.
