Travel outside US with pending I-140
My employer has filed an I-140 and the application is still pending. My wife and I are currently holding an H1B - mine is expiring in 2012 and my wife’s is expiring in May of next year.
We have never left the country since 2001 and our status then was F1 (Student Visa).
My sister is going to be married in the Philippines in December and we want to be there for this special event.
Would it be wise for us to travel outside of the US while my I-140 is still pending? If so, what documents would I need? Would I need to apply for advance parole?
