US Permanent Resident Now Obtaining Canadian Immigration
I'm in the USA on PR status. Previously I'd also applied for Canadian PR. That application is now approved. My plan is to obtain Canadian PR, but continue to live & work in the US for the next 3 yrs before moving to Canada. Would my US or Canadian PR status suffer as a result?
I'm aware of the residency criteria for maintenance of permanent resident status in both countries. But would the act of obtaining Canadian PR status, while already holding PR status in US, compromise either status. So, after having gone through the landing procedures in Canada to complete the immigration process (I am planning a 1-2 day trip for this), would I be able to return to the US and continue to stay and work here on my US green card?
