Problem with Visa - How do I become legal again?

In March 09, I entered the US from Ukraine with Mother & brother. My mother married an American man. My bother and I are still living with them. I am 18 & my brother is 17. We are both at the top of our HS classes. I would like to go to college in fall. When I entered the US, I received an I-94 form, which I NOW understand made me & my brother legal until June 09. No one suggested that we needed to do anything else. Please tell me, what do we need to do now to become legal again. Online research and the advise from teachers is conflicting.
My question, what do we need to do? File an I-102 form ($320 each)? Or is there another form we need to file?
Please help us, as we need to do something soon, and we want to become legal US citizens.
Thank you,
Julia
