I overstayed in India till date (Due to unexpected sisters marriage posttht my mothers bad health & my health condition)i had traveled from US(3rd Feb-09)on AP which expired in Jan-10. But i got my GC in Jun-09.Now to go back to my husband who is also a GC holder I appeared for an interview for returning residence SB1(DS117)on 10thAug-11 but was rejected stating failure to return within AP expiry.To file Immigrant visa is time consuming(I have to wait for my husband to complete his citizenship approx 2 yrs&then 1 year to get a dependent citizenship)Is my understanding right?is there any way to shorten this process?
visa:Any chances of getting a Visitor Visa?Do i need to deposit my GC card when i apply for the same?If the vistors visa is denied what are the other options to get back to US?
