Q.

Studying MS on H4 visa

Hi Indu,
My wife is studying MS at SJSU on H4 visa from last 3years.Recently her parents when went to get tourist visa and mentioned that her daugther is studying MS on H4 visa so the counselor said you cannot do that,you have to convert to F1 to study in U.S.Is that true? I heard similar from other people too but on the net everybody says it's ok to study on H4, just cannot work and this was the impression I had.
