H4 visa re-stamping after H1B visa transfer

My husband and I got H1B & H4 visa extensions till Jan 2013 from Company A in March 2010.The new visa stamping has not been done on our passports. In Sept, he changed to Company B with H1 transfer, and his H1 is now valid till March 2013.My H4 visa remains unchanged but I have a valid I-94 till Jan 2013 which was issued by Company A during extension filing.Since I only have expired visa stamped on the passport,if I travel to India alone,I have to get H4 re-stamped.Correct? My husband's passport shows the H1 visa as expired and the old stamping shows previous employer. Will there be any complications due to this? He has a valid I-797 and 3 months pay-stubs,both from new employer Company B.Also, will copies of documents suffice for the interview? Is travelling to India a risk in this situation?
