I would like to marry my illegal alien girlfriend in the US and would like to know what our options are. She was brought to the United States from Mexico by her mom when she was 9. No one in her family ever petitioned for her. She graduated high school and has no criminal record working full time. She has never re-entered the US. She has never been asked to leave the country.

I also have a clean record and a US Citizen, working IT professional.

My question is this:

Can she get legal status without having to go back to Mexico and if so what are the steps we need to take?

If a top notch lawyer is needed, what would you estimate the average cost to be?
