L1 B petition extension - RFE

I am currently in L1 Individual petition. My visa and petition expired on Dec 15th 2008. My company had applied for extension earlier and USCIS issued an RFE for that. I have below questions regarding this.

1) Considering the elevated risk of denials currently for all extensions, what other options do I have to stay in US legally (other than leaving the country)

2) My company has denied my request of processing a new L1 A petition as I was not qualified. However they have initiated H1 B new petition processing. Will I have any implications in H1B process if my currentl L1 extension is denied?

3) If I received a denial notice from CIS, how much time do I have to leave the country?

4) Any other options/suggestions in this case
