Converting L1 visa to J2
Hello,
I am a physician on J1 visa (7 years, expires in June 2011). My wife is here on L1 intracompany transferee visa which expires in June 2010. She has always had a J2 dependent DS2019 form but never used it for an actual visa.
What are her options for changing from L1 to J2 dependent status without returning to Europe? Can she simply stay here with me and the children on J2 dependent status?
