K1 Fiance Visa - How will previous Qatar deportation be viewed
My fiance lived and worked in Qatar for approximately 3-years. She received some bad advice from a friend that told her that there is no penalty for overstaying her visa in Qatar provided that it is not longer than 3-months. Unfortunately, at the 2-1/2 month mark, she asked her sponsor for her passport and for an exit visa. She told him she did not want to renew her contract, which had just expired, but rather to return to China indefinitely. He was angry and refused to give her passport to back to her. She reported this to the police but they detained and then deported her. I worry that when she seeks a police certificate from Qatar it will show that she is a criminal because of this. How will this affect her ability to get a K1 visa for our marriage.
