J-1 Visa question
Hello--
My wife has been working in the US for 4 years as a teacher under a J1 Visa. Recently she was notified her last day of employment will be June 30, hence her visa will expire July 30th. Will did get married a few months ago and are applying for the waiver to ultimately get her permanent residency. During this period of "pending" status can she collect unemployment? It would seem fair as she is prohibited to work and her employer has been paying toward state unemployment wages all along.
