Time-off between 2 jobs when H1B transfer has been filled
I am working for company A (a US scientific research facility) who has sponsored my H1B. I accepted an offer from company B (a university) and they filed a H1B transfer for me approximately 5 weeks ago (in May). The H1B transfer has not been approved yet. The starting date in company B is August 24.
Can I take some time-off (28 days) after I resign from company A and before I join company B? In other words, can I resign on July 27 and take the time between July 27 and August 24 to relocate, look for a new apartment, etc?
