Q.

H4 to H1 (previously H1 held for 4 years)

Hi ,

I have converted to H4 from H1 as I was laid off from my job 4 months back.
I have my H4 approved.
If i find another job ready to file a non-frivolous H1 petition can I take advantage of H1 portability and start working as soon as, I receive the acknowledgement of 'receipt of petition', or do I have to wait till H1 petition is approved to start work ?
