Q.

H1-B to H4 and back

Hi,
I have been working under a H1-B visa(expiring on July 2010) for an Indian MNC.My assignment got over in Mar 09.As my spouse is also working (on H1B) I decided to take loss-of-pay leave with my current employer till another assignment comes my way.My employer had mandated that I apply for a change of status to H4 through filing form I-539 before going on vacation.I did so and have been on vacation since Mar 09.Also,I received a notification mail from USCIS stating that my visa status have been changed to H4.
Now is it possible if I want to quit my current job and join another company as my H1B petition is still valid? How can I apply for a change to status from H4 to H1-B?
