I came to US in Apr 06 with Com A on L1B. In Apr 08 I applied for H1B with Com B. My H1 got appr w/ COS (w/ I94) starting Oct ’08. Due to economic conditions I cudn’t find client w/ Com B on my H1 & was forced to cont w/ Com A on my L1. My L1 was due in Feb 09 and hence my Com A filed for an ext of L1. I got the L1 appr w/ ext of stay w/ a new I94. My question is: 1. Am I legal or illegal to US Gov? 2. Will I be able to work for Com B on my H1 when I find a suitable project? 3. My Com B emp says that adjustment of status can be filed when I switch from my L1 to H1. Is that correct? 4. Also what are the chances that USCIS will reject my AOS considering the economic slump and rumors that USCIS is making it difficult of non resident immigrants specially those coming from India.
