Q.

F1 to H1 to F1 to H1

Hi,

I came in US in Jan 2006 as F1 student and graduated in Dec 2007. I was on OPT frm Dec 14 2007 to 31 sep 2008

I got H1b from 1st Oct, 2008 and got laid off from first company in Dec 2008 who filed my H1b in 2008. Then I tranfered my H1b to current company and now I am on H1b status with my paystuff upto date. I have my wife on H4 but i haven't transfered my wife's H4 status to new company

I have few questions as follows

1.I am looking to go for F1 status to do either M.S. or Ph.D. Studies. Can i go back to H1b status "anytime" during my F1 status?

2.Am i getting OPT period if I complete my M.S. or Ph.D.

3.Do I need to have a sepeate procedure to change status of my wife because her H4 status is not transfered to new Company

4.Do I need to leave the U.S. for this?
