Q.

H1 to H4

Visa: H1B
Arrival date: 7/30/2004
H1B petition valid until: 7/29/2010
Home country: India

My project is ending soon and I am planning to come on H4.

1. If I change my status from H1 to H4, how long it takes for the processing?

2. In case of Change of Status (COS) application until when I will be on H1B status, until the date when COS application gets filed with USCIS or until the date when H4 is approved?

3. What is the better option, apply for COS or go to Canada and get H4 stamping or go to India and get H4 stamping?

4. If I go to Canada for H4 stamping do I need to show the validaity on my H1 by showing employement letter, pay stubs etc?
