F1 to H1 grace period
I am currently on OPT which ends September 21 2009.
My employer applied for my H1b on April 1 2009. Let us assume my H1B is approved. If I get laid off before the H1b starts (oct 1) how much grace period do I get to find a new job and can I apply for OPT extension if I don't find an employer to sponsor H1b but is enrolled in e verify. (PS : I am in the STEM filed so I am eligible for OPT extension. )
