Q.

Valid H1B visa stamp from previous employer. Upcoming travel

Please advise if US law permits re-entry to United States on previous employer's un-expired H1B visa stamp on the passport. I do have I797 Approval notice from my new employer.
I have an upcoming travel to Europe on a business visit for a week.
