Limited stay granted at port of entry due to Passport expiry

Hello,
I am on H1B visa with a company A and I got my extension for 3 years when I went to India in last December and while I was coming back I was granted limited stay in USA due to my passport expiry which is on Dec 27th 2011. Mean while I got a new job with company B and they have already started my H1B transfer process, it may take another 3 weeks. At this situation what should I do,

1. Should go out of the country and comeback to get my new passport stamped to extend my stay?
or
Will the new company's I-797 allow me to stay in the country for rest of the period of 6 years span?

Since the time is very less for Dec 27th and in case of any delay in my Visa transfer to new company what would you suggest me?

Thank you very much for your valuable advice
