I140 approved, Changing job
I am presently working with a company for almost 8 years. They have filed my GC & my I140 has been approved. Based on my I140 approval, I have got my 3rd H1b extension till Dec 2013.
I have a got an offer from another company. They are willing to file my H1b but not GC.
Can I use I140 approved from my present employer to keep extending my H1B with new employer?
I have signed a document stating that I would reimburse all the expenses incurred on my GC if I leave before the 4th anniversary of filing GC. However I came across a law stating I would not be accountable to the GC expenses even if I had signed such a document. Till now my employer paid approx $3500 (Lawyer + Labor apln) & I have paid $1500 (I140). Can you please clarify my liability?
