H1B Visa Holders to be investing members of an LLC
Hi,
I'm an H1b holder working as an IT professional in the US. Planning to form a three-member LLC along with two other individuals(another H1B holder and a US citizen). The LLC will hire individuals who will be providing professional IT services to the LLC's client companies. The two H1B holders will not work for the LLC and would be just making the initial investment to the LLC and will not be paid any salary. The LLC will be formed in Rhode island and the US citizen will be solely managing it from Philadelphia. How legal/appropriate is the situation? Can H1B holders be the members of and draw profits from the LLC?
