Q.

H1B Amendment Needed?

I am working with my employer on H1B since 2008 and recently was approved for a 3 year extension that I also got a visa stamp for.

My employer is a direct vendor for a major HMO and I have been assigned on a project with this client since 2008. My recently approved H1B extension/LCA states that I will be working at this client's office in city X. The client owns/leases several office buildings in the area. The client was running out of office space for the growing team in city X and so couple of months ago decided to move the entire team to a office location in city Y, 12 miles away which in the same metropolitan statistical area. There is no change in my employer, role, pay or project. Even the client supervisor and team are the same.

Is my employer required to file a H1B amendment?
