Q.

H4 to H1 change of status

While I was in India I applied for H1B and received the petition which is valid till 2011-Oct. In 2010 Oct, I came to US in my husband's dependent visa (H4 ). Now I got a job offer from a firm in US and they are willing to do corp-to-corp with my consulting firm till 2011-Sept and may apply for H1 B extension or transfer after that
1) What is the procedure, duration and time for changing my status from H4 to H1 now?
2) Can I start working in US as soon as I get a receipt for change of status or should I wait for the approval of that?
3) If there is any delay of the approval or rejection for this change of status, can I initiate H1 transfer through another company along with H4 to H1-B status change?
