H-1B amendment petition after material changes are made
I'm an H-1B holder working in a university. I recently got an offer to get prompted, which involves "material changes" according to a HR person in my university. The person told me that the university can file the petition for the amendment AFTER I start the new position. However, I found that some universities require a USCIS receipt notice for the H-1B petition before an individual can start a new position. I know that there is no regulation specifying when to file an amended petition. My question is: if I start the new position before the university file the petition for the amendment, could it produce any problems?
