Q.

Change of Job during OPT cap gap period (H1B start 1st OCT 2011)

I completed my MBA in the US in June 2010. My current visa status is F1 with OPT ending on July 25, 2011. I am working in a company in the US that sponsored my H1B. My H1B is approved and along with it OPT is also extended till the start of H1B Nonimmigrant Visa (start date of H1B is October 1, 2011).

I wish to change my job due to personal reasons. New employers want to know if I can change my job during the window period(cap-gap) of 2 months between my OPT and H1B. Though my OPT has been extended, Is there a rule that I can work only with the company that has applied for the H1B during the cap-gap period?. Also, can I change my job without having the visa stamiping done?

Please advise. Let me know if you have any questions.
