I applied for my H1B back in 2006 and got it for 3 years, but I never used it. I eventually transfered my status to H4. Now I am ready again and I want to apply for my H1B. If I apply for H1B now, will I come under the new H1B quota or can I still transfer/renew/extend under the previous quota and start working right away?

I don't want to wait until October 2011. I want to start interviewing for jobs right away and I have an employer who is ready to do my H1B.

Do I still have to wait until October 2011 to get my H1B or can I apply right now without falling into the new quota. What are my options?
