My wife and I are in US on H1B. Her employer is going out of business on 05/31. She might get another job offer by June 2. When is the latest that we need to file for her H4 through my employer? How long is the current H1B valid once the H4 has been filed? What happens if an H4 is filed for her and then after 2 weeks an H1B transfer is also filed? Can a H1B transfer even be filed after filing H4 or does it have to be a new H1B application? What happens if H1B and H4 both are approved? If she does not get a job offer, can she travel overseas while her H4 application is in process? How long does H4 processing takes and is there a premium processing? If she wants to travel overseas for 4-6 weeks, will we be better off if she first leaves the country and then I file for her H4?
