Q.

Status and I 94

I have question on my status. Below are the sequences of events.
1) Sep 22nd 2010: H1B RENEWAL with extension of stay applied.
2) Dec 4th 2010: I left USA for home country.
3) Mar 18th 2011: Entered USA on F2 Visa
4) Mar 21st 2011: Received H1B approval with I-94 . The I-94 number on H1B Approval copy didn’t match with the number on the I 94 received on March 18 2011 while entering US on F2.
5) Filed H1B Amendment on April 23rd to correct the I 94 number for H1B and to change status from F2 to H1B. I am waiting for decision on my H1B Amendment.
My question:
1) What is my current immigration status (F2 or H1B)?
2) What will be my status if my H1B amendment is denied?
3) If the H1B amendment is approved. Does the F2 VISA (STAMP) on my passport gets canceled?
