H1B Visa Interview

I'm in my 5th year in H1B(approved I140)thru an IT consulting Firm.I'm planning to get my visa stamped in Matamoros,Mexico next week.So i called an agent to take me to Mexico. But enquiring my situation and W2,he said in Matamoros US consulate, they check w2's from 2008 to 2010. I told him, my 2010 W2 will show the Wages as 55K but my 2008 and 2009 would show 42K and 43K respectively. And i told him that i was in bench and my company did not run payroll and so it is showing the reduced amount. He advised me not to go to the Visa interview. In 2009, I went to India for 3 weeks but was in bench for 2 months. So i think my company did not run the pay roll for these months in 2009.Can you please advise me whether is it fine to go the Visa interview in Mexico or other suggestions/how to answer?
