Transfer from cap exempt H1B to cap subject H1b
I currently have a cap exempt H1B with a non-profit research institute. I have also accepted a job recently at an investment bank. I want to transfer my cap exempt H1B to a cap subject H1B. If this can be done, would it mean that I can only start work from the 1st of October (since the new H1b cap subject visas, available from April 1st are for the next fiscal year). I really want to start work right away and am wondering if that is possible.
