Hello,

I'm a Sri Lankan citizen working in US on H1B visa. I recently got married and my wife is an Australian citizen. She was born and brought up in Sydney, Australia. We have been married for just over a month.

I'm planning to bring her to US on H4 dependent visa. I'm asking the below 2 questions because Australians come under a different long term visa which is E category. Not sure if I can apply for H4 visa for her.

1. My question is if I can bring her here on H4 as my dependent. If not, please advice as to what are my options.

2. Also, Australians can travel to US without a visa and stay up to 90 days under Visa Waiver program. if she were to come here under this program as a visitor, can she apply for dependent visa after she had arrived here in
US.
