Q.

H1-unpaid vacation

I got recently visa changed from F1 to H1-B visa(fulltimejob). I want to take unpaid vacation for india travel(wedding and stamping). My employer is denying extra leave, on the grounds that H1-B visa holders cannot take unpaid-vacation. My H1-B visa started on dec12th, 2010, and I wish to take unpaid vacation in May, 2011. My employer is one of the reputed Software companies in the bay area, and I hold a full time position.
Please advise a work around!
